Attention Peter Manock

Peter - I just tried to email you but your Freeserve email address was bouncing the messages back. Could you possibly drop me an email (from another account) with your postal address?

Cheers!
Keir

Everything's back

I managed to get thehalfwayhome.com domain back, after a discussion with the registrar, apologies for the mess up.

In the time it was down, any emails sent to @thehalfwayhome.com address probably failed. You'll have to resend them, sorry about that.

Anyway, all fixed now.

In good news, I've noticed that since we've had hopeofthestates.com, hits have increased, and lots more Dust Rackets requests have come in. If anyone could help with those requests it would be very much appreciated.

Thank yous as always
xx

www.hopeofthestates.com

As hopeofthestates.com wasn't being used, we have gained control of the domain and set up The Home under it. Good timing, as somebody seemed to steal thehalfwayhome.com domain when it unexpectedly expired.

Same still applies with the below news post - www.forwardirektion.com is where it's currently at, and http://discussion.forwardirektion.com is the new forum.

Over and out.

www.forwardirektion.com

This is the new site.

It's currently in beta, ie, extremely limited. Arfie and myself are going to use it as a site to keep track of each of the projects that the ex-HOTS band members are now involved in. It won't be in the detail that the Home was, but you'll find bootlegs and things will now be over there, instead of the Home.

In fact, I'm going to pretty much leave the Home up as archive now, and will not update it further unless it's HOTS-related news.

So, for all Troubles, Blocks, CERN news etc, bookmark (or use the RSS feature) Forwardirektion: today.

Oh, and when we leave the official forum, we shall move to the forum that'll be on forwardirektion: later this month.

www.forwardirektion.com

REPEAT - THE HALFWAY HOME WILL NOW ONLY BE UPDATED WITH HOPE OF THE STATES RELATED NEWS, AND FOR DUST RACKETS LIST MAINTENANCE.

It's been a pleasure.

Troubles bootleg - London College of Fashion

Thanks to a couple of fabulous people, we now have a rather lovely recording of the recent Troubles gig at London College of Fashion (06-12-06).

I don't know all of the track names, and it sounds better as one long set, so it's in one big mp3 currently. I might split it up at a later date.

Enjoy!

Troubles gigs

I hope everyone enjoyed the gigs! I thought the boys did well. It was strange to see everyone playing different things, but nice.

For those who didn't get hold of the album, there was talk of trying to make the album available to buy via the internet at some point, I'll post details here when I come across them.

For reviews and pictures etc, check out this thread

Do something nice this Christmas

Make someone happy this Christmas by sending them The Dust Rackets!

The people on the list have been on it since summer now, as nobody is keeping the chain going. I sent out 3 sets a few weeks ago, and got not a single thanks, or help continuing the chain. This makes me sad.

So please, even if you've received your Rackets already, remember how much you wanted them while you were on the waiting list. Make someone happy this Christmas - pick someone from the top of the waiting list, let me know and send them a nice (very cheap!) Christmas present.

>Dust Rackets Waiting List<

If anyone sends out multiple Dust Rackets, or is exceptionally generous, they'll be a Blood Meridian EP 10" vinyl for grabs, which may possibly be signed.

Fuck the puppies and Xbox360s - send a Dust Racket this Christmas.

Love Keir xx

EVERYTHINGMUSTGO setlist

Sam played the following last night at Everything Must Go:

The Number
Telegraphs
Be Not So Fearful (duet with Ed Harcourt)

Of the set, Arfie says the following:

The Number's nice and funky ("sixty thousand dollars for a sixty second heart attack", "do the twist, do the twist, do the fucking twist")
Telegraphs is beautiful and haunting ("those fractures in photographs of families and factories"), and I can't wait to hear it again. It's fucking amazing.

The duet on Be Not So Fearful was one of the most beautiful things I've heard in a long time. I'd love to hear them record a cover of it together.
